Bedtime Storybooks for Harris

Now Harris has his own favourite bedtime stories collection! 📚

It is the My VERY First I Can Read books collection by the HarperCollins Publishers, written by educator and reading specialist Dr. Julie M. Wood and illustrations by Sebastien Braun.

This books collection has three box sets and every box set consists of 11 simple and fun storybooks including a Parents’ Guide book with reward stickers inside!

There are seven levels from A to G and every level is gradually increase in difficulty of readings. Although these books are said to be suitable for children age 3 to 6, my 21-month-old Harris can easily pick up on the storylines which makes me impressed so much 😍

For Box Set 1, the 11 storybooks inside are of the Guided Reading Levels A to C. With simple text, sight word vocabulary, predictable stories accompanied by strong picture support of characters and plot development, thus this box set is the perfect entry point for new readers.

Meanwhile, the 11 stories in Box Set 2 are Guided Reading Levels C to E, which means the stories are still very simple but include few dialogues. The stories are also slightly more advanced than the A and B level stories in Box Set 1.

Last but not least, for the Box Set 3 which consists of 11 stories with Guided Reading Levels E to G, the vocabulary, sentence structures, and plots are still simple but richer than Box Set 1 and Box Set 2.

The Parent’s Corner at the end of every storybook is very helpful in providing quick reading guidelines should be done with children.

Right now Ayah Harris and I have to read these books for Harris and he can finish up to six books of Box Set 1 in a row every night!

Harris is really in love with every character especially Pen the Hen as he calls it “Momma Pen” 😂

I cannot wait for us to finish the last book in Box Set 3 and of course I am more looking forward for the time when Harris can finally read all of these books on his own 😍
